Love poem

Anna Harvilla

You gave me a piece

of your heart to eat.

It broke my teeth.

I swallowed the pieces --

they cut my throat

and came back up as pearls.

The heart wouldn't stay down.

Promise that after

I've died you'll donate

my body to science.
