Our Final kiss

Shanna frock

Whispered lies

Keep me away,

The emptiness in your eyes . . . hurting.

I turn away in pain.

Soft kisses meant to erase it,

But I still remember.

Memories so haunting,

Swelling behind frozen eyes.

Kiss of gun powder and fire.

I’ll bury your ashes.

The sound heard for miles.

Everyone came to see the rubble.

They never thought you’d be there too,

Under the stone and debris.

As ashes fell, I smelled the smell

Of burnt flesh and sulfur.

No one knew your scent

Made them hungry for more:

Like rabid dogs

Tearing flesh from bones

I watched the intoxicating scene

While licking ashes from my lips.

My last taste of you.
