THERE IS AN ARTFUL ELEGANCE IN PRESERVING THE NESCIENT MIND.
Amy Leah Milligan
I find that
solace in reverie
adheres to romantics.
Their figures are
constructed to ideals
and lack of color.
However --
those eidolic grays
can make a cynic.
Oils bleed through
any vulnerable canvas --
leaving an unrealistic impression.
Putting aside my envy,
I’m confident to say
that you are a coward.
Before there was you,
my mind was untainted, naive.
I was a romantic.
My design, too, lacked color.
