THERE IS AN ARTFUL ELEGANCE IN PRESERVING THE NESCIENT MIND.

I find that

solace in reverie

adheres to romantics.

 

Their figures are

constructed to ideals

and lack of color.

 

However --

those eidolic grays

can make a cynic.

 

Oils bleed through

any vulnerable canvas --

leaving an unrealistic impression.

 

Putting aside my envy,

I’m confident to say

that you are a coward.

 

Before there was you,

my mind was untainted, naive.

I was a romantic.

 

My design, too, lacked color.
